How foodee Awards ranking works
A short, honest explanation of how a restaurant earns its place on a board.
Every restaurant starts with points from its public rating
Before anyone votes, a restaurant gets starting points from its public rating — adjusted for how many reviews stand behind it, so one 5-star review does not beat 300 reviews at 4.7. With no votes at all, the order is the same as our directory's top-rated order.
Every vote adds a point
Signed-in people can vote for any number of restaurants on a board, once per restaurant, and take the vote back with another tap. Accounts younger than 7 days count as half a point, so a brand-new account cannot swing a board.
How the order is decided
Points first (starting points plus votes). If points are equal, the better-rated restaurant with more reviews goes first. The 'This month' tab counts only votes cast this calendar month in Dhaka time — starting points only break ties there.
Keeping it fair
Restaurant owners can campaign openly, but they can never vote for a restaurant they own or have claimed. We keep a scrambled, non-reversible fingerprint of the network a vote came from. If many votes come from the same network, or a flood of brand-new accounts arrives at once, those votes are held until a person reviews them. Votes are never removed just because two people share a Wi-Fi connection.
Arrows and monthly winners
▲ and ▼ compare today's rank with the ranking taken each Monday at midnight. On the 1st of every month the top 3 of each board are saved as that month's winners.
